SAFETY UPDATE

I am currently offering video and phone sessions at a reduced sliding scale rate due to COVID-19. I want to ensure that mental health services remain widely available and that clients stay safe during this challenging time. Please get in touch for further information.

ANASTASIA ASSURAS

Individual, Couples, and Family Psychotherapy

ALL ABOUT THERAPY

Perhaps you are dealing with a new experience, overcoming difficulties, or seeking meaning in your life. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I provide a supportive, empathic environment and listen attentively. It takes courage to be vulnerable and it can be challenging or uncomfortable at times to discuss your difficulties with a therapist. As a Psychotherapist, I attend to your emotions, behaviours, thoughts, and your ways of relating to others so that we can explore new insights in a non-judgmental space. MY STORY

Anastasia Assuras MCP, RP

I received my Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University in Vancouver, BC and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am a trained individual, couples, and family psychotherapist with experience delivering evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and I use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my practice. I use trauma-informed practice in my work and I have training and experience with many different therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy, Dream Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I offer psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing difficult life transitions, emotional challenges, mental health issues, and relationship concerns. I have a strong background working with families affected by behavioural and substance addictions as I strive to help family members engage in their own healing and recovery. I have worked closely with youth and adults experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, traumatic experiences, and other mental health challenges. My goal is to create an atmosphere for growth and internal wisdom in a non-judgmental, open therapy environment. I work collaboratively and transparently with clients to determine their specific priorities and needs and I customize treatment to align with their goals.
